Tuolumne County Hospice

I have donated $50 annually to the Tuolumne County Hospice over the past three year in memory of my parents, John and Maryann Gray. It is a very good organization as all hospices are and once you see them in action, you are sold for life.

When I began this year, I began walking a path that took me where I never expected, straight to you. My name is Rebecca Tacosa Gray (my nom de plume Sterling Parker), and I am the owner of the small gallery Un Gallery de L'Ange in Ceres, California and President and Owner of the informal organization, Un Univers Des Anges. In my work, both my writing and my art, I donate to charity. Of my books, 30% goes to charity (Different charities for each book), and of one, Beyond Paradise, a beautiful book about God, Love, Jesus Christ and the true nature of Good and Evil, 50% goes to charity. Thus far, I've donated $121.75 to charity. Not a large amount, but a start! Of my artwork, 10% goes to charity, to support art in the schools and art for underprivileged children. I truly believe that the Fine Arts contribute so much beauty in this world...it is a walk in the wonder of our ability to create something lovely, both for ourselves an other. It is the expression of our souls, our unique perspectives, and our love. The last thing I want to see is for artwork to disappear from our schools or our lives.

I am hoping that everyone who reads this blog realizes the huge difference they make in this world by donating just once a year...to the underprivileged, to the environment, to the beautiful homeless who could use just a little help to get hot coffee and a meal. All of us have the chance to make a difference in this world, and charity is just a little bit of love realized.

Most people who know me recognize one thing, that I love beauty in every way. I believe all disciplines, all professions, and all religions are lovely. At their heart is love. In my case, Painting, writing, and the Performing Arts are, to me, expressive mediums of knowledge and feeling. They're a visual record of personal discovery that allows one to technically explore the union of senses and visit the mystery of self and other in relation to the physical and spiritual world. My artistic journeys always start with the wonders of nature...the exploration of the self...and end with the gratification of learning, each attempt following a natural progression of thought.

My hopes and dreams? To look through a glass window and discover that rainbows lay beyond, a glittering reminder that our souls create the beauty of art by refracting the beauty of life onto a simple canvas, a simple sheet of paper, a performance of beauty and attention. They are gifst of beauty in the heart of every person that shares with you in the spirit of beauty in this world, of which you are a part.
